Signe Vad's exhibition at Martin Bryder Gallery will consist of the photographic works Placenta and a video work There Are No More Dolls In The Closet Only A Respirator.

This is the second time Vad exhibit in the gallery, also this time the theme is concerning both humans and animals base-material –the flesh.
Photographs of placenta tissue and the 16 min. video work -a sci-fi lecture, a voice from a distant future that examines our relationship with body and flesh. Together, it becomes a tale of the estranged body of contemporary life, the flesh images attract and repel, intimidate our senses; The video work reaches out to connect the viewer with her flesh and blood.

Signe Vad works here with the weird, the erotic and the grotesque as a life-nerve, a poetic dialectic that criticizes alienated inhuman power systems and lifeless structures.
