Woke Up Sticky - 2009-11

The installations of video and photographic works worked with metaphors around the framework of existence. I am interested in the limitation we as humans experience in being trapped in our own consciousness and in the thought space of our culture. It is the existential questions that are the focal point, but a further development of the existential condition, to how we act in the community. The works process the feeling of being inhibited in one's view, limited by the form, the norm, the tradition and our psychic space. How it is claustrophobic to be in a closed circle and how to create a breaking state. Each work is made as metaphorical sub-narratives to the main narrative, and each work contains a degree of absurdity that moves the narrative from the concrete to the abstract level.
